GLMUSD definition

GLMUSD is the market symbol for Golem (GLM) priced in US dollars, showing how many dollars one GLM token will buy. Golem runs a decentralised marketplace for computing power, letting people rent out the spare capacity of their machines and others pay to use it, with GLM as the token that settles those transactions.

Trading GLMUSD as a crypto CFD means speculating on the token's price rather than buying GLM and keeping it in a wallet. A long position gains if the price rises, and a short position gains if it falls. Quotes are in US dollars, the market is open around the clock, and the token can be highly volatile, partly because it is smaller and less liquid than the major coins.

GLM's price tends to react to demand for the Golem network, developments in decentralised computing and related infrastructure, broad crypto regulation, and market sentiment. As a smaller token it can move sharply on Bitcoin's larger swings. Note that Golem the computing token is unrelated to similarly named projects in other sectors.

GLMUSD Example

Say GLMUSD is trading at $0.30 and you go long with a position of 1,000 GLM, expecting renewed interest. The price moves to $0.36, a gain of $0.06 per token, so your profit is:

1,000 √ó $0.06 = $60

Had it fallen to $0.24 instead, the same $0.06 move against you would have cost $60.
