AUD/JPY continues its winning streak that began on April 6, trading around 114.10 during the European hours on Thursday. The technical analysis of the daily chart suggests a bullish bias as the currency cross moves upwards within the ascending channel pattern.
The AUD/JPY cross holds a firm bullish bias as price extends above both the nine-period and 50-period Exponential Moving Averages (EMAs). The 14-day Relative Strength Index is hovering just above 70.00, signaling overbought conditions, hinting that upside momentum is strong but increasingly stretched.
On the upside, the AUD/JPY cross remains close to a fresh all-time high of 114.20, reached during earlier hours, followed by the upper boundary of the ascending channel around 114.70.
The primary support lies at the nine-day EMA of 112.76, followed by the lower boundary of the ascending channel around 111.70. Further declines below the channel would expose the 50-day EMA at 110.61. A break below the medium-term average would put downward pressure on the AUD/JPY cross to navigate the region around a nearly two-month low of 108.79.
