黄金价格可能最近达到了新的历史高点，但白银的表现实际上更为出色，德国商业银行（Commerzbank）外汇和商品研究主管阮氏秋兰指出。
白银表现优于黄金
“自年初以来，白银上涨了约56%，甚至超过了黄金的44%。仅上个月，黄金的小兄弟白银就上涨了15%。我们多次指出：价格的急剧上涨没有（新的）基本面原因。白银的实物市场在其最近的反弹之前就已经供不应求。”
“相反，黄金的历史高价现在让许多人望而却步，因此寻求替代品也是合乎逻辑的。然而，现在也建议对白银保持谨慎：2011年接近49美元每盎司的历史高点也在逼近。”
