英国英镑（GBP）在周三欧洲交易时段对主要货币同侪承压，下滑至接近1.3375。继英国4月份消费者物价指数（CPI）数据公布后，英镑承压，数据显示通胀压力以快于预期的速度降温。

英国国家统计局（ONS）数据显示，整体CPI同比增长2.8%，低于3%的预期和3月份的3.3%。同期，剔除食品、能源、酒精和烟草等波动性较大的核心通胀率从之前的3.1%降至2.5%，预期为2.6%。环比（MoM）整体CPI稳步上涨0.7%，低于0.9%的预期。

英国价格压力降温的迹象将促使交易员提高对英国央行（BoE）近期降息的押注。

投资者预计本周剩余时间英镑将面临更多波动，因5月份初值标普全球采购经理人指数（PMI）和零售销售数据分别定于周四和周五公布。

与此同时，由于市场对美联储（Fed）今年至少加息一次的预期增强，美元维持逾一周的涨势。截至发稿时，衡量美元兑六种主要货币价值的美元指数（DXY）上涨0.1%，至接近99.40。

由于霍尔木兹海峡能源流动受限，油价高企，鹰派的美联储前景加速形成。

投资者将关注将于GMT18:00公布的4月份联邦公开市场委员会（FOMC）政策会议纪要，以获取更多关于美国利率前景的线索。

Conversely, a drop in the pace of price rises indicates looser monetary policy. A higher-than-expected result tends to be GBP bullish.
