Japan PM Takaichi: Will avoid debt issuance to ensure market trust  

Japan Prime Minister (PM) Sanae Takaichi said during the European trading session on Thursday that the government won’t lean on debt funds to supplement temporary tax cuts, in an attempt to maintain market trust.

Will ensure market trust by not resorting to debt issuance in funding temporary tax cut.

Will scrutinise potential source of revenues such as tapping foreign reserves, non-tax revenues, spending reforms.

Will return levy on food times back to 8% two years later under my responsibility.

Will cut sales tax on food to 1% from April 2027.
