Ethereum (ETH) held above $2,700 on Tuesday after starting the week on a positive note.
The top crypto stretched its 7-day gains to 14% after energy prices and the US 10-year Treasury yields dipped on Monday.

The move saw US spot ETH exchange-traded funds (ETFs) attracting roughly $270 million, its largest daily inflow since October. That marks two consecutive days of net inflows for the products worth approximately $413.8 million, offsetting the prior three days of outflows.
Whales are also piling in following the price rise. An OTC whale, 0x8c58, bought 4,500 ETH on Tuesday, bringing its balance to 37,000 ETH, with unrealized profits of more than $30 million, according to data compiled by Lookonchain.
Another key whale swapped 200.71 BTC for 6,247 ETH. The whale has exchanged 1,308 BTC for 40,670 ETH over the past six days and staked everything.
Ethereum treasury firm BitMine Immersion (BMNR) also likely bought more tokens, adding 12,500 ETH to its collective balance, Lookonchain noted. Last week, the firm acquired 27,562 ETH, stretching its total holdings to 5.983 million ETH worth $16.513 billion at the time of writing on Tuesday.
"To us, this massive outperformance of ETH in 3Q26 is viewed as a prelude to a potentially stronger up move in the 4th quarter of 2026," wrote BitMine Chairman Thomas Lee in a Monday statement. "Given institutions have underweighted crypto in 2026, partially due to the outperformance of AI stocks in early 2026, we expect institutions to substantially increase their exposure in the final 3 months of 2026. We believe this could add meaningful upside to the gains seen since June 30th."
The recent uptrend isn't unique to ETH, as the crypto market has rallied broadly, continuing its strength from last week despite a Federal Reserve (Fed) rate hike and a regulatory setback as the Clarity Act stalled in the Senate.
Ethereum recorded $52.6 million in liquidations over the past 24 hours, led by $29.5 million in long liquidations, according to Coinglass data.
On the daily chart, ETH saw a rejection at $2,786 resistance but continues to hold its advance above a dense layer of Exponential Moving Average (EMA) support. The move reinforces a bullish near-term bias as price holds comfortably above all major trend gauges.
Momentum remains elevated, with the Relative Strength Index (RSI) hovering near 71 and the Stochastic above 90, hinting at overbought conditions but so far aligning with ongoing upside pressure rather than a completed top.
On the downside, immediate support is clustered between the horizontal levels at $2,626 and $2,544, backed by the 20-day EMA at $2,537, while deeper structural floors emerge at $2,431 and the 50-day EMA at $2,356. Below these, the 100- and 200-day EMAs around $2,212–$2,233 and prior horizontal pivots at $2,172 and $1,961 mark more distant but relevant demand zones.
On the topside, initial resistance is seen at $2,786, followed by $2,894 and then $3,177, where a break higher would open the way for a fresh leg of the uptrend. However, stretched oscillators suggest any test of these barriers could be met with consolidation or brief pullbacks toward the EMA cluster.
